About Wonka’s Crib

Mission Statement:

Wonka’s Crib is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for youth, empowering them through mentorship, activities, and community support while fostering life skills, personal growth, and leadership development.


Our Commitment to Safety

At Wonka’s Crib, the safety and well-being of our youth are our top priorities. We provide a secure and supportive environment where every participant feels valued and respected. All staff members are trained in trauma-informed care and adhere to strict safety protocols, ensuring that youth are physically and emotionally protected at all times.

 

Supervision Standards

Wonka’s Crib maintains a high standard of supervision to guarantee a positive experience for all participants. All staff members have undergone background checks and receive ongoing training in youth engagement and crisis management.

How to Join

Complete the Membership Application (link to application).

Applications must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Membership is free and open to eligible youth.

What Happens If Guidelines Are Not Followed?

Wonka’s Crib is committed to restorative practices. If these guidelines are not met:

  • A staff member will speak with the participant to understand the situation.

  • Restorative actions may include an apology, repairing harm caused, or additional responsibilities.

  • Persistent challenges may lead to further discussion with parents/guardians and, if necessary, a temporary pause in participation.

  • What are the hours of operation? - Friday 5pm-9pm and Saturday 4pm-9pm

Additional Info for Youth

Snack and Beverage Policy

  • Membership includes daily access to one beverage and two snacks.

  • Snacks and drinks are provided exclusively for Wonka’s Crib members with completed applications.

  • Recycling efforts help support our programs—youth are encouraged to recycle their cans and bottles in designated bins.
     

Respectful Engagement Guidelines
At Wonka’s Crib, we strive to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for everyone. To ensure a positive experience for all youth, staff, and volunteers, we ask participants to follow these community guidelines:


 

  1. Respect for Others:

    • Treat fellow participants, staff, and visitors with kindness and respect.

    • Use positive and supportive language. Bullying, teasing, or hurtful behavior will not be tolerated.
       

  2. Care for Our Space:

    • Take pride in keeping Wonka’s Crib clean and organized.

    • Dispose of trash in bins and place cans and bottles in the designated recycling bin.

    • Handle program equipment and materials responsibly.
       

  3. Active Participation:

    • Engage fully in activities and programs with a positive attitude.

    • Show up on time and ready to participate.
       

  4. Conflict Resolution:

    • Use respectful communication to resolve disagreements.

    • Seek help from staff if you feel unsafe or need support.
       

  5. Responsibility and Safety:

    • Follow the instructions of program staff to ensure everyone’s safety.

    • Stay within designated program areas unless accompanied by a staff member or with permission.
       

  6. Personal Accountability:

    • Each participant is responsible for their actions and choices.

    • Take ownership of your behavior and seek to grow from feedback.
